Basecamp alternative
A Basecamp alternative you pay for once.
Basecamp dropped per-person pricing in 2026, which is good news. But it’s still rent, sized by how many projects you run: Studio is $59 a month for 10 active projects, and Pro is $99 for 25. ReplaProject gives every job a board, a table and a calendar, you buy it once, and nothing is priced by the project.
One payment. No monthly bill, no project limits to plan around, nothing to cancel.
Basecamp, for five years.
Basecamp Studio
$3,540
$59 a month, billed monthly. Up to 10 active projects and 25 GB of storage, with everyone included.
Basecamp Pro
$5,940
$99 a month, billed monthly. Up to 25 active projects and 100 GB, with time tracking.
ReplaProject
$399
Once. Everyone included, and nothing priced by the project. Plus about $6 a month for the server it runs on.
Basecamp prices from basecamp.com/pricing on 29 September 2026. Its plans are billed monthly, except Unlimited at $299 a month, which is billed yearly. Over five years ReplaProject comes to about $759 with the server.
What changes when you move
Nothing priced by the project
Basecamp’s plans stop at 10 active projects on Studio and 25 on Pro. ReplaProject costs the same whether you run five jobs or five hundred.
It knows what waits for what
“The roof can’t start till the scaffold’s up.” Tell it once, and it works out which job everything else is waiting on, and says so.
One name on every job
Each job has one person responsible, and anything with nobody’s name on it is put in front of you instead of quietly hidden.
Hours and workload, built in
Log hours against any job and see who has too much on this week. Basecamp keeps time tracking for Pro and above.
Nothing is really deleted
Bin something by mistake and it comes back exactly as it was, comments, files and all.
Your jobs, on your server
It runs on a server you rent, so your jobs, files and comments stay yours, and it keeps working whether or not we do.
When Basecamp is still the better choice
Better you know now than after you have paid.
- You like Basecamp’s way of working. Message boards, automatic check-ins and Campfire chat are built in. ReplaProject is about jobs and who’s doing them.
- You want it hosted and done. Basecamp runs everything for you. ReplaProject needs a server, which we can set up or run for you, but it exists.
- You want apps. Basecamp has apps for phones and computers. ReplaProject works properly in a browser, but there is no app to download.
- You run one small project. Basecamp’s free plan covers one project with up to 5 people.
Moving your projects across
Bring your to-dos in from a spreadsheet as a batch. ReplaProject shows you what it is about to create before it creates anything, and keeps a record of every import. Lists become statuses, to-dos become jobs, and each job gets one name on it. If you would rather not do it yourself, write to us first and we will say honestly how long it will take.
