Asana has four tiers. The free Personal plan now covers only 2 people. Starter is $10.99 per person a month billed yearly, or $13.49 monthly. Advanced is $24.99 billed yearly, or $30.49 monthly. Enterprise and Enterprise+ are priced by Asana’s sales team. Seats come in fixed blocks, so a team of eleven pays for fifteen.
Below: what each plan includes, where the limits push you up a tier, and what Asana costs a team over five years. All prices are in US dollars, from asana.com/pricing and Asana’s help centre, checked on 29 September 2026.

Where the limits bite
The free plan shrank from ten people to two
In November 2025 Asana cut its free plan from 10 people to 2. Anything bigger than a pair now needs Starter, at $10.99 a head.
You pay in seat blocks, not per person
Asana sells 2, 3, 4 or 5 seats, then steps of 5 up to 30, steps of 10 up to 100 and steps of 25 up to 500. Take on a sixth person and you pay for 10 seats; an eleventh and you pay for 15. Go over and Asana moves you up to the next block automatically.
AI comes with a small allowance
Each paid plan includes 5 AI requests per person a month, pooled across the account and capped at 50 on Starter and Advanced. Beyond that, extra requests cost $0.50 each bought in advance, or $0.60 each billed monthly.
The planning features are Advanced only
Portfolios, goals, resource management, approvals and time tracking all need Advanced, at $24.99 per person: more than twice the price of Starter.
What Asana costs a team, over one year and five
| People | Seats you pay for | Starter, a year | Starter, five years | Advanced, a year | Advanced, five years |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 5 | $659.40 | $3,297 | $1,499.40 | $7,497 |
| 10 | 10 | $1,318.80 | $6,594 | $2,998.80 | $14,994 |
| 12 | 15 | $1,978.20 | $9,891 | $4,498.20 | $22,491 |
| 25 | 25 | $3,297 | $16,485 | $7,497 | $37,485 |
| 50 | 50 | $6,594 | $32,970 | $14,994 | $74,970 |
Look at the twelve-person row. Two new starters take the bill from 10 seats to 15, and three of those seats sit empty.
Is Asana worth it?
For teams that plan large pieces of work across many projects, often yes. Advanced does things few tools match, with portfolios, goals and resource management in one place, and Asana is polished, well supported and has proper phone apps.
For a small business that mostly needs to know who is doing which job, it’s a lot to pay for. Ten people on Starter cost $6,594 over five years, and the planning features that set Asana apart cost more than twice that.
The one-payment alternative
ReplaProject is project management you buy once. $399, and everyone in your business is on it, with no seats and so no seat blocks. Every job gets a board, a table and a calendar, jobs can wait on other jobs, and a forwarded email becomes a job. It runs on a server you rent from about $6 a month, so five years comes to about $759 for the whole team, whether that’s five people or fifty.
It isn’t for everyone. Asana’s portfolios and goals go further than anything in ReplaProject, so if you rely on those, stay. There’s no app in the App Store (it works in a phone’s browser), and it needs a server, which we can set up or run for you. See how it compares with Asana, or everything it does.
